Guide to the 2026 Gijón Air Show

Experience it from the best balcony on San Lorenzo Beach

Next Sunday, July 26, starting at 11:00 a.m., San Lorenzo Bay will become the setting for the spectacular 2026 Gijón Air Show. This event, established as Spain’s most iconic and important aviation festival, features an impressive display in which the sky is filled with aerial acrobatics, rescue drills, and skill demonstrations performed by top-tier professionals.

The festival draws nearly 250,000 people each year and offers a unique spectacle that combines the excitement of national and international military aerobatic teams, civilian competition aircraft, and helicopters from law enforcement agencies. A visually captivating event designed to be enjoyed by families and aviation enthusiasts alike.

If you’re looking for the most comfortable, exclusive way to enjoy this unforgettable day with the best views, at abba Playa Gijón Hotel we’ve designed the perfect beachfront experience.

An experience without crowds

If you’re planning to enjoy the festival, there’s a very important technical factor regarding the Asturian coast to keep in mind: high tide is expected at 10:40 a.m. This means that, right when the show starts, the tide will be at its highest point and there will be hardly any space left on the beach.

To spare our customers the crowds and the frantic search for a spot, we are once again offering exclusive access to our panoramic terrace by selling numbered physical tickets with limited capacity.

Tickets are now available at our hotel’s front desk starting today, Friday, July 10, in the following categories:

  • Adult Price (€20): Includes access to the terrace and one drink of your choice: water, soda, wine, or beer.
  • Child Rate (15 €): Includes access to the terrace and one drink of your choice (water or soda).

Information Notice: In compliance with current regulations governing public events, at the time of purchase, you must fill in the buyer’s information (first name, last name, and ID number) by hand on the master copy of the ticket booklet.

Flavors with the Abba Mia Seal

To round out a perfect Sunday with the family, our abba mia Gijón restaurant will offer a special themed menu designed exclusively for the occasion.
Due to capacity and safety considerations, please note that reservations for this special menu are for dining in the restaurant only and do not include access to the rooftop terrace.

Practical Tips from the Organization

Whether you join us on our terrace or decide to explore the area around San Lorenzo Beach, the organizers recommend keeping these practical tips in mind to make the most of your day:

  • Health and Wellness: It’s expected to be a hot morning, so be sure to wear a hat, use sunscreen, and stay hydrated. If you take any medication regularly, don’t forget to bring it with you.
  • Caring for Young Children: Some aircraft produce very loud noise spikes, so be sure to use hearing protection (such as earplugs or earmuffs). Pay close attention so you don’t lose sight of the children, and agree on a meeting point with your group in case you get separated.
  • Pets: We strongly recommend that you do not bring pets, as the loud roar of the engines can seriously affect them.
  • Logistics and Access: Arrive well in advance and make use of public transportation whenever possible, as parking lots in the area fill up quickly. Remember to bring your camera to capture the show.
  • Safety and Public Decency: Please respect the areas of the beach set aside for safety reasons and help keep the beach clean (garbage collection services will be stepped up). Follow the instructions of the event staff and security personnel at all times, report any suspicious activity, and note that the Lifeguard Station is located at Staircase 12.
