Nelson Okoro: An Inspiring Story of Inclusion and Perseverance at Abba Huesca Hotel
Nelson Okoro, 32, embodies resilience and determination. Originally from Nigeria, he fled his homeland due to life-threatening dangers. After a challenging journey to Spain, he found a fresh start in Huesca through Cruz Roja’s Employment Program, designed to support social and professional integration for vulnerable individuals.
With personalized guidance, Nelson honed skills for Spain’s labor market. Despite prior experience in construction and transportation, he trained in cleaning services, a sector in demand. During an internship at Abba Huesca Hotel, he became the first male room attendant, breaking gender norms in a traditionally female role.
The hotel team welcomed Nelson warmly, praising his work ethic and dedication. Colleagues and guests alike appreciate his contributions, and the hotel management highlights his success as a beacon of diversity and integration. His journey showcases the impact of partnerships between committed companies and social initiatives.
At Abba Hotels, we remain committed to fostering inclusion and equal opportunities for a better future.
